Professor Snježana Prijić-Samaržija, Ph.D., University of Rijeka Rector, and Prof. Blaženka Divjak, Ph.D., Minister of Science and Education, signed a Program Funding Agreement for academic years 2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21 and 2021/22.
This contract is a step forward towards financing science and education based on the models of good practice in the developed EU countries. Contracts like this represent transparent financing of public higher education institutions that also enable additional financing based on results, i.e. achieving agreed goals.
The goals of financing educational, scientific and artistic work are:
- the relevance regarding present and future needs of the labor market and development of economy and society, as well as efficiency and internationalization of higher education
- excellence in scientific and artistic work
- science, art and higher education as initiators of change in society and economy.
