UNIRI Students Helping the Healthcare System Workers

The University of Rijeka Student Union supports and hence joined the National Initiative (HSZ) for the creation of protection visors with the help of 3D printers for medical staff, initiated by Slaven Damjanović, a student from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture of the University of Split.

On behalf of the University of Rijeka, the project is coordinated by students Luka Delak (Faculty of Medicine) Luka Vukonić (Faculty of Engineering) and Tea Dimnjašević, president of the Student Union of the University of Rijeka. In today’s coordination, a total of 200 protection visors have been put together for delivery to healthcare professionals at the Health Center and Clinical Hospital Center Rijeka.

The UNIRI Student Union has taken over the coordination of the project for the whole region of Primorje-Gorski kotar County and beyond, and for now, more than 15 private companies that own 3D printers and several companies that have donated visor materials have joined the initiative.

To create and donate protection visors, UNIRI also cooperates with the National Center for Technical Culture from Kraljevica, which provided one part of the materials needed for visors creation.

With this unselfish act, students have once again shown their solidarity. Thank you!
